CATENARY VOLTAGE OUT OF LIMIT watch Catenary Voltmeter Close VCB When Voltage is Ok
Introducation
The F0104P1 Fault message will appear, when the voltage goes out of limits and VCB/DJ trip. VCB/DJ remain not trip between voltage 17.5kv to 29kv. If VCB/DJ tripped than LSDJ & BPFA will glow, LSFI will start blinking, bring throttle “0” position and check OHE voltmeter. If ok then close VCB and resume Traction. if not ok, then check whether the pantograph is touching the OHE.
Lamp Indication
LSDJ & BPFA will glow, LSFI will start blinking.
Effect
VCB remain not trip between catenary voltage 17.5kv to 29kv.
Action to be taken by Loco Pilot
- (1) Bring throttle to “0” position.
- Acknowledge fault by pressing BPFA.

- (2) If U- meter showing “0” then either no tension or Panto isn’t in contact with the OHE or Fuse blown off.
- confirm OHE Tension through TLC/TPC.
- If there is no tension in OHE, Act accordingly.

- (2.”a”) if not in contact then check chattering to raise another Panto.
- If chattering then replace the 2 Am fuse on the SB-1 panel with spare fuse After lowering of Pantograph only.
- Check OHE Voltage
- Ok then Close VCB
- Resume traction.

- (2.”b”) If 2 Amps fuse is not blown, wait for OHE voltage to raise above 17.7 kv but less then 29 kv.
- After OHE voltage get restored,
- then re-close VCB
- and Resume Traction.
- (3) If OHE voltmeter is showing voltage between 17.5 kv to 29 kv,
- then try by isolating SR-1 & SR-2 as per follwing message.
- If message SLG-1:0020 is received on DDS then isolate SR-1 through MCB 127.1/1, 127.11/1(IGBT) (SB-1).
- If message SLG-2:0020 is received on DDS then isolated SR-2 through MCB 127.1/2, 127.11/2 (IGBT) (SB-2)
- then try by isolating SR-1 & SR-2 as per follwing message.
- (4) If not success try following-
- Switch OFF & ON the MCE once again. try to resume traction, if still not success the
- Try another Panto
- and try to change the CAB.
- try by isolating Slave loco electrically as in 1.
Fault No: F0104P1
(From Slave loco only and not from master loco during WAP-5 MU Operation With Single Panto)
SS01: Main Power F0104P1
CATENARY VOLTAGE OUT OF LIMIT
Lamp Indication
LSDJ will glow. LSIso-1: LSIso-2 will Extinguish. LSFI will start blinking.
Effect
VCB trip, Both isolator will open.
Action to be taken by Loco Pilot
- Bring throttle to “0” position. Check the HV cable between two locos. If HV cable damaged isolate slave loco electrically by opening both isolators (by pressing BPIso) and operate the loco as single.
Warning: Mechanical coupling of multi not to be opened s it will cause damage to the HV Cable. If HV cable is ok.
- Check 2 Amps. Fuse of slave loco at SB-1, if it is blown off replace it with the spare fuse after lowering of pantograph only. check for OHE voltage getting restored, then close the VCB and resume traction.
- If 2 Amps fuse is not blown, wait for Catenary voltage to rise above 17.5 kv but less then 29.5 kv.
- After OHE voltage gets restored, the re-close the VCB
- and resume traction.
- Switch OFF & ON the MCE once again.
- Try to resume traction, if not succeeded then-
- Try by changing panto
- Try by changing cab.
- Try by isolating slave loco electrically as in 1.
