Fault No. F0107P1: Precharge or Main Contactor Stuck ON.



Fault No. F0107P1 indicates a serious issue with the “Main Power Supply” of the locomotive – specifically a “PRECHARGE OR MAIN CONTACTOR STUCK ON” condition. This results in the “MAIN CONVERTER Being BLOCKED” and the VCB (Vacumm Circuit Breaker) getting tripped. In this scenario, one Bogie can bbe isolated, and the locomotive can be operated in limited mode/ Half Traction.

LSDJ & BPFA will glow, LSFI will start flickering.

VCB will trip.

  • Bring Throttle to “0” position.
  • Try to clear block section in Coasting.
    • Acknowledge fault by pressing the BPFA button.

  • Switch OFF and then ON the MCE (Master Control Electronics) once again.
    • Then Raise the Pantograph
    • Close the VCB
    • and Resume Traction.

If not successful:

Check the DDS Background Message:

  • Then clear block section with one Bogie in service by isolating a Traction Converter as per following message.

If SLG1: 0037 or 0039 appears:

  • Then isolate Traction Converter-1 (SR-1) by switching OFF the following:
  • MCB – 127.1/1
  • MCB – 127.11/1 (IGBT).
  • (Located in SB-1 panel)
mcb-127.1/1 and 127.11/1 (Sb-1) for IGBT loco.

If SLG2: 0037 or 0039 appears:

  • Then isolate Traction Converter-2 (SR-2) by switching OFF the following:
  • MCB – 127.1/2
  • MCB -127.11/2 (IGBT).
  • (Located in SB-2 panel)
  • Note: These MCB’s are provided for Traction Isolation.
MCB-127.1/2 and 127.11/2 for IGBT loco, these are traction converter isolation  MCB's. it's provided in SB-2 panel.
  • Inform TLC and act as per instructions.
  • If not successful within 20 minutes ask for relief loco.


LSDJ & LSFI will glow

VCB will trip

  • Switch OFF and then ON the MCE once again.
    • Raise panto
    • Close VCB
    • and resume traction.
  • If VCB cannot be closed:
    • Shut down the locomotive.
  • Ask for a relief loco within 20 minutes.
