Fault No: F0103P1 (Low Pressure Panto/Faulty Panto)

Fault No: F0103P1 appears when the “Auxiliary Reservoir Pressure” less then the required level of 5.2kg/cm2. When this occurs, the Driver Dispay Unit (DDU) will show one of the following messages, “Low Pressure Panto/Faulty Panto – check Isolating Cock, check Auxiliary Reservoir Pressure.” This fault prevents the “Pantograph” from rising.

LSDJ & BPFA will glow, LSFI will start blinking.

Panto will not raise.

  • “Acknowledge fault” by pressing “BPFA” button.
  • Ensure ” IG-38 Blue key” is
    • “Horizontal” position in “E70 Brake Locomotives” (Pn. Panel),
    • “Vertical” position in “KNORR-CCB2 brake locomotives”.
F0103P1, pneumatic panel E70 brake locomotives. IG-38 and etc.
  • Check that “auxiliary compressor” is working or not. Check MCB 48.1 (SB-2) of MCPA.
F0103P1,auxiliary compresor/MCPA MCB -48.1 provided in (SB-2) panel.
F0103P1, Aux. Compressor pressure switch 26 in E70 brake panel and position of switch 5th from left.
  • If not working, “gently tap pressure switch No. -26” on pneumatic panel.
  • Located (“5th from left” on pneumatic panel in “E70” and labeled “PANS-PS” in CCB2)
  • Ensure “Aux. Reservoir pressure more than 5.2kg/cm2, using guage provided on pneumatic panel,
    • check and confirm the “drain cock is closed” ( Handle parallel to pipe).
F0103P1, Aux. reservior pressure guage. should be more than 5.2kg/cm2 and drain cock is closed.
F0103P1, Panto isolating and VCB cocks should be horizontal position.
  • Check position of “Panto isolating and VCB cocks” on Pn. Panel.
    • Operate them 2-3 times,
    • Ensures that these are in “horizontal position”.
  • Try to raise pantograph,
  • If not successful, try to raise other pantograph by panto selector switch (85) on pneumatic panel.
F0103P1, panto selector switch 85 which is used to selection of panto.

Monitor pressure in Pan Circuit:

Pressure Controlled by “Pressure Switches 130.4/1 (Pan-1) & 130.4/2 (Pan-2).

  • After giving panto raising cammond,
    • if pressure switch not picked up within “35 seconds” then VCB will be disable.
    • If already closed, VCB will open after “2 second delay”.
  • Tap very gently above pressure switch (130.4/1 & 130.4/2).
  • Marked “9/1 & 9/2″ provided on top of the “E70” panel,
  • and labeled “PAN1- PS & PAN2- PS” in CCB2 panel.
    • Raise panto and close VCB.
pressure monitring switches, monitor of pressure pan-1 & pan-2 etc.
  • If not successful,
    • try changing the cab,
    • Use alternate Panto by “changing panto selector switch No. 85” on pneumatic panel.
  • If still uresolved:
  • The switch OFF and ON the MCE once again.
